Microbubble Bath - The Wonders of Bubbles
Normal metabolism of the skin involves constant cell renewal. Many times, due to a myriad of reasons, the process is interrupted and residual dead skin cells and oil deposits build up, bringing about dandruff-like symptoms and smelly coats. The dead skin cells become a conducive breeding ground for parasites like mites and lice. Oil deposits, on the other hand, will clog pores and hair follicles as well as cause bacterial infestation leading to skin inflammation and various forms of skin disorders. Ultrasonic Ozone Spa
Just how does an ultrasonic ozone spa session work?
Ultrasonic waves are produced by allowing pressurized air to be forced through chambers in a special mat at the bottom of our jacuzzi tub. As the bubbles cascade and collide with each other, hundreds of thousands more are produced. The effect is similiar to that of a waterfall. Find out more on Ultrasonic Ozone Spa HERE
Restorative Mist Spa Therapy
Lovingly formulated especially for feline and aged animal companions, notwithstanding canine guests, therapeutic spa sessions at Petopia is ever more blissful than before with the decadent additions of mist therapies.
Besides bearing curative effects, the mist therapies are delightfully scented so animal guests will relax in the comfort of and at the same time benefit from the mist solution containing adaptogen Essential Oils…
Despite bearing similar structures, our animal companion's hair is very delicate compared with ours, with thinner cuticles and cuticle layers packed more loosely on top of one another towards the tip.
Irritation caused by excessive exposure to driers, strong ultraviolet rays, nicotine and other harmful emissions can bring about cuticle degeneration. Even forceful brushing can be detrimental towards cuticle health.

Nutritional Therapy
Nutritional Therapy is a system of healing based on the belief that food, as nature intended, provides the medicine we need to obtain and maintain a state of health. Food is the medicine and medicine is the food.
Although some health problems require specific medication, many conditions can be relieved effectively with Nutritional Therapy. By developing a sense of control over our companions' health, we make them less dependent on allopathic treatments. Find out more on Nutritional Therapy HERE
Essential Oils & Aromatherapy (for dogs only)
Aromatherapy is a fascinating and truly enjoyable experience, as there are many options available to your companions. It is not only about burning EOs in a crucible (applicable for behaviour correction, calming etc) but also applying a diluted blend (or spritz) directly to the skin and problem areas.
You can add on appropriate essential oils to any of the canine massage sessions, hydrobaths or spa treatments at Petopia. Among our aromatherapy products are the highest quality organic and therapeutic grade essential oils and hydrosols. Special blends for addressing different problems are also available. Flower Essences Therapy
Flower essences are dilute extracts of various types of flowers and plants that are used to treat animals and people. They are similar to homeopathic remedies in that they are diluted and potentized to make them more effective than by simply using the original flower as a herbal extract.
Dr. Edward Bach, a famous English physician, was the first person to develop the original flower remedies. He created Bach Flower Remedies when he was working as a homeopathic practitioner and devoted the last years of his life from 1930 to research and develop his remedies. He had wanted to find a simpler form of treatment that would not require anything to be destroyed or altered.

Gemmotherapy
Gemmotherapy is a form of herbal medicine using remedies specially made from the buds and young shoots of trees and shrubs. Other parts are used as well - typically the rootlets, bark, catkins, seeds and sap.
Plant extracts high in growth factors are only present in the buds and not in the whole plant, but begin to disappear as the plant matures. Researchers have found that this process releases the greatest amount of healing potential from the plants. Find out more on Gemmotherapy HERE
Homeopathy
Homeopathy, a medical science developed by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, has been considered a controversial alternative to traditional (allopathic) medicine. Formally introduced in the 18th century, homeopathic medicine is actually an older form of treatment that predates modern medical knowledge.
Allopathic medicines can cause side effects, leading to much suffering or even death. In an effort to prevent side effects, Hahnemann began successive dilution with agitation of his medicines, to find the point at which they would be therapeutic, but not toxic. Find out more on Homeopathy HERE
Reiki
Reiki comes to us and the modern world through the teaching lineage of Dr. Mikao Usui. Dr. Usui lived in Japan during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. During this time, he began a quest to discover the secret of healing.
While on a meditative retreat and fast on Mt. Kurama outside Kyoto, Japan, Dr. Usui had a mystical experience receiving Reiki healing energy and the ability to transmit this power to heal. From this experience, he developed the Reiki healing system. Find out more on Reiki HERE
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy refers to the therapeutic manipulation of the soft tissues of the body. Most dogs, like humans, enjoy a massage when it is done with skilled hands and a good understanding of their anatomy. Find out more on Massage Therapy HERE
Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a natural healing technique used in traditional Chinese and Tibetan medicine. This method is also used in Japan by practitioners specialising in natural healing.
Indirect moxibustion is being practised on animal companions at Petopia. It involves burning dried leaves (mugwort - Artemesia vulgaris or Loquat Leat - Folium eriobotryae) in a special pipe and placing them over identified meridian points of an animal's body. Depending on the condition requiring treatment, different sets of meridian points are 'stimulated' to bring forth a desired therapeutic effect. Find out more on Moxibustion HERE
Far Infrared Therapy
Far Infrared (FIR) Therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on the exposure to longwave infrared radiation. At Petopia, FIR Therapy is administered during massage sessions, clay pack wrap sessions and Ultrasonic Ozone Spa sessions.
Infrared energy is known to penetrate tissues to a depth of over 2.5cm on animal companions. Of note is that the Infrared Radiant energy output is actually tuned to correspond closely to a companion's own radiant energy, so that body tissues absorb close to 93 percent of the infrared waves that reach the skin. Hyperbaric Oxygen Healing
Hyperbaric Oxygen Healing is a refreshing way to help animal companions revitalize, rejuvenate and recover naturally with oxygen. Such a healing session aims to help animal companions cope with the effects of ageing, illnesses, injury or overexertion.
In a typical session, the animal companion is placed in a large transparent chamber that supplies a pressurized flow of pure oxygen 1.5 times that of atmospheric oxygen level, affording the companion more oxygen in the bloodstream, speeding up recovery processes.
